It’s time for a renovation! From November 26, 2023, to January 5, 2024, Hotel Skansen will be closed due to improvement work. Here you can find information about the renovation and improvements, opening hours, and alternative stays during construction.
Opening hours during the construction period
HOTEL: The hotel will be closed to guests from check-out on November 26, 2023, until January 5, 2024. During the period from January 6 to January 25, 2024, while work is still ongoing at Sand, we offer a specially curated spa package with dining options in the banquet hall and at Mamas.
RESTAURANT SAND: Restaurant Sand will be closed from November 26, 2023, until January 26, 2024. If you wish to make reservations for a later date, you can contact us as usual – we are here for you.
SPA, ROOFTOP & GYM: The spa, rooftop, and gym will be closed from November 26, 2023, until January 5, 2024. The spa booking is open as usual.
COLD BATH HOUSE: The cold bath house will remain OPEN throughout the construction period.
GIFT SHOP: The gift shop will open before Christmas. Opening hours will be posted closer to the date.
RESERVATIONS: The reservation services are open throughout the construction period, whether you want to book accommodations, conferences, restaurants, or spa services.

If you’re in the mood for a spa experience or a treatment – don’t miss the chance to try Torekov Hotel’s spa. In a cozy environment, you can enjoy both cold and warm baths, indoors and outdoors, as well as a wide selection of spa treatments.
If you have a gym membership, you can work out for free at Hotel Riviera Strand and Torekov Hotel throughout the construction period (please show your gym card), and we will extend your current membership by 7 weeks at no extra cost.
So what are we doing?
We have now reached phase 2 of an extensive renovation of the entire hotel. It’s time to improve the kitchen and our staff areas. At the same time, we will upgrade the lighting in the Winter Garden, replace the ceiling and lighting system at Sand, and refine the restaurant’s summer entrance, and our smaller bar, reviewing the property’s core systems.
The work in the Winter Garden will be completed well before January 6, 2024, when the hotel reopens to guests. Work at Restaurant Sand will continue until January 26, 2024. Between January 6 and 26, meals for package guests will be served in the banquet hall and at Mamas.
