Looking for a relaxing and climate-responsible way to reach Hotel Skansen? Direct trains to Båstad depart every hour daily from Malmö, Copenhagen, and Gothenburg. The connecting bus from Båstad’s new train station is included in the ticket price. The bus stops just 200 meters from the hotel.
Some good things to know when taking the train to Hotel Skansen in Båstad
- You want to book your train ticket to the Båstad bus station. The ticket is valid for the connecting bus in central Båstad, included in the price at no extra cost.
- The connecting bus is the Regional 501; it takes travelers between Båstad station and central Båstad and lines up with train arrivals and departures. The bus leaves the train station at location A (see map below).
- If you are going toward Hotel Skansen, simply exit the bus at the Båstad Torget stop (travel time of approximately 13 minutes). From the bus stop it is a short 200-meter walk straight down hill to the hotel (see the map below).
- The transfer time between the train and the bus is about 4–6 minutes. This is usually more than enough time for individuals with average mobility, but if you have difficulties walking or are in a large group, it may be good to plan ahead as you may be pressed for time getting between the train platform and the bus stop. If you think you will have difficulties making the transfer, you may want to consider booking a taxi instead.

It’s quite easy to navigate around the Bjäre Peninsula via bus from the main Båstad bus station. You can also rent bicycles at the hotel for more convenient travel. If you would rather take a taxi, we recommend booking well in advance as the number of taxis in the area is limited. During the summer of 2019 there is also a free bus that runs between central Båstad and Norrviken Gardens (Norrvikens trädgårdar).
